ProPath® Announces New Dermatopathology Fellowship Program

ProPath, a wholly physician-owned provider of pathology services to clinicians and medical facilities nationwide, today announced the launch of its new Dermatopathology Fellowship program.

ProPath’s new Dermatopathology Fellowship is a one-year, ACGME-accredited program. The overall goal is to provide an organized, comprehensive educational experience that will expose the fellow to both the theoretical and practical applications of dermatopathology. Averaged over the year, eight months of the fellowship is devoted to dermatopathology training, with the remaining four months focused on clinical dermatology (for pathologists) or anatomic pathology (for dermatologists), to insure a comprehensive knowledge base in both disciplines.

Gregory A. Hosler, M.D., Ph.D. has been appointed Fellowship Director for ProPath, overseeing all aspects of the program. “The program is designed to produce both academic and community leaders in the field of dermatopathology,” said Dr. Hosler. “The ProPath experience offers different perspectives, having physicians with both dermatology and pathology backgrounds”.

“We believe the strength of our faculty, combined with the breadth and depth of case volume we have, will make this one of the most highly sought fellowships in the nation,” said Cory A. Roberts, M.D., President and Medical Director of ProPath. “We combine the best of academic medicine with the best of private practice for a very unique learning environment. Dr. Hosler already plays an important role in the success of ProPath, both clinically and as a passionate educator of other physicians, our patients and the medical community. He will be the perfect leader for this endeavor”.

“This is an exciting, new opportunity for a dermatologist or pathologist eager to enter the field of dermatopathology,” said Terry L. Barrett, M.D., Director of ProPath Dermatopathology. “I am proud to be at the forefront of this unprecedented program at ProPath and look forward to helping graduates develop the skills necessary to deliver expert care, manage a practice, and become leaders in the field.”

The first fellow joined the team of ProPath physicians in July, 2012. For more information, contact the ProPath Fellowship Program Office at fellowship(at)propath(dot)com or call 214.237.1715.
