  • Dr. Lager joined the faculty of the Department of Pathology at the University of Iowa and, in 1997, moved to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Under her leadership, the Mayo Clinic Renal Biopsy service grew to become one of the largest in the world. Dr. Lager has been active in medical student and resident/fellow education. She has more than 75 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and abstracts and has lectured both nationally and internationally on native renal disease and renal transplant pathology. Dr. Lager also has sub-specialty interests in heart transplant pathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology, and Urologic Pathology.

  • Dr. Lager is the co-editor of Practical Renal Pathology, A Diagnostic Approach, and a volume in the Pattern Recognition series.

  • In addition to renal pathology, Dr. Lager also has expertise in gastrointestinal pathology, specialty testing, and surgery center services.
